theme documentation
Everything you need to run IRON.
IRON is a performance-apparel theme built for brands that sell on discipline and detail — subscriptions, unit pricing, and a merchandising toolkit that stays out of your way. This page covers setup, customization, and how to reach us if something's off.
Getting started
IRON is built on Shopify's Online Store 2.0 architecture, so every section on every page — not just the homepage — is fully editable from the theme editor. No code required for day-to-day merchandising.
Online Store → Themes before making changes, so you always have an unedited copy to fall back to.Installation
- From your Shopify admin, go to Online Store → Themes.
- Click Add theme → Upload zip file and select the IRON theme file from your purchase confirmation email.
- Once uploaded, click Customize to open the theme editor and start setting up your homepage sections.
- Replace the demo images and copy with your own under each section's settings panel — nothing here needs a developer.
- When you're ready to go live, click Publish from the themes list.
Keep your previous theme in the "unpublished themes" list for at least a week after switching, in case you need to roll back.
Key features
Subscriptions, native
Works with Shopify Subscriptions or any selling-plan app — one-time and recurring purchase options render side by side on the product page automatically.
Unit pricing
Set unitPriceMeasurement on a variant and the price-per-unit (e.g. $/100g) displays without any theme configuration.
Mega menu
Hover navigation with an auto-pulled collection image, sub-links and a featured product — populated from your existing collection data, no extra setup.
Multi-currency & language
Currency and language switchers in the footer activate automatically once you configure Markets and Languages in your Shopify admin.
Customization
Fonts & colors
Go to Theme settings → Typography and Colors. Every font is served from Shopify's own font library, so there's no external loading delay and no Google Fonts account needed.
Homepage layout
Every homepage block — hero, category grid, featured collection tabs, countdown banner, testimonials — can be reordered, hidden, or duplicated from the theme editor's section list on the left.
Announcement bar & popups
The newsletter popup is a section group, so its copy, delay, and image are editable like any other section — look for it under Header → Newsletter popup in the editor's section list.
Sections reference
| Section | Where it's used | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Slideshow | Homepage | Supports multiple slides, autoplay, and a corner CTA card. |
| Featured product | Homepage | Full add-to-cart form for one hero product, including subscriptions. |
| Countdown banner | Homepage, collections | Real-time countdown to a date you set — no app required. |
| Brand story | Product, collections | Three-value trust block, commonly used under reviews. |
| Product reviews | Product | Static, editable review blocks — pairs well with a reviews app if you use one. |
